Content Map for J2.5 - display problem
« il: 16 Lug 2014, 23:48:26 »
I have ContentMap Module and Plugin installed. My project is is about collecting and still offline, so I cannot show an URL at this moment. I have some 10,000 objects in roughly 1,200 categories and subcategories to display. Each item is a single article with geo-coords. The site worked fine since a week ago, when I passed to enter item #4,900 or so. Out of a sudden ContentMap did not show the module map anymore. Only the empty module frame was displayed. Sometimes it helped to re-load the site but most of the trials lead to no success. Sometimes it also helped to de-activate some of the latest articles, but as per today the module frame stays simply blank.

When I reduce the filter down to few categories only, the map is displayed again.

Has anybody an idea what could be wrong? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Ciao Fr@nk,
or in some article the geo-coords are in wrong format, or with a large number of markers in the module there is a problem of running out the memory dedicated to the site from the server or the execution of the procedure is in times out.

Ciao alexred!
Thank you for your immediate response. I for sure can exclude wrong format of geo-coords as well as two or more articles containig identical geo-coords, which would lead to the same blank frame. I already had some 4,900 items displayed properly. But now, even if I de-activate the latest 10, 50 or 100 articles, the map does not show up anymore. In other words: It once worked fine but now it does not anymore. Also server memory seems not a thing to worry about - 8GB should be sufficient.
What comes into my mind: Just recently I changed the name of a few subcategories but I am not sure anymore whether the aliasses were changed, too. Is this a likely reason for the display problem?
BTW: As soon as my display probs are solved, I will upgrade to the commercial version - ConentMap simply thrills me!

Update:
I made 8 different modules - one for each continent and one map for the whole world. They are displayed on one page all together. All maps are displayed perfectly, but the "World Map" (bottom right) remains blank! See the image.
So, according to your post, alexred, it is either a problem of insufficient memory or timeout. As my knowledge is a bit limited: what can I do to make it working again?

Ciao alexred!
Yes, all 8 modules are in one single page. 2 modules are in user1 position and 6 modules in user2 position. The 'blank map' remains blank, no matter whether I switch the respective module from position user1 to user2.

This bunch of maps is for test purposes only. In the final version only one single "World Map" shall be displayed.

Saluti,
Frank

Update: I made separate pages for each module. The result remains the same. All continent maps ape displayed perfectly, the common "world Map" stays blank  :(   Any suggestions?
