salve se rinomino il file htaccess.txt in .htaccess mi da il seguente errore

il sito e installato sotto una cartella in remoto puo' essere questo il problema? senza il punto iniziale funziona in questa forma htaccess come mai

in pratica dovrei creare au altro file e rinominarlo .htaccess io ho rinominato quello esistente

Anch'io ho lo stesso problema e non si risolve neppure con la copresenza dei due file.
Potrebbe essere una limitazione di aruba (piattaforma LAMP)
