you can install Ozio Gallery 2.3 it is another component.

Ozio Gallery 1.x is a component
Ozio Gallery 2.x is a new component

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my Ozio gallery version 1.0.8 to the latest version 2.3. On the download page, the instructions are as follows:

Update package from versions prior to Ozio Gallery 2.3
- Estract the content of the compressed package and upload the folders via FTP in the folder which contains Joomla files, overwriting the existing ones.
IMPORTANT:
To complete the update of your Ozio Gallery delete the file components/com_oziogallery2/imagin/scripts_ralcr/filesystem/writeToFile.php

Unfortunately, I do not know where to overwrite the files.

When I look at the /components/com_oziogallery folder I see only these files:

What folder in Joomla do I upload the new oziogallery2.3 files to?

Is it this folder /components/com_oziogallery or some other location? I do not want to make a mistake in upgrading as my client has a large gallery using this application.

È questa cartella / components / com_oziogallery o qualche altro luogo? Non voglio fare un errore in aggiornamento come il mio cliente ha una galleria di grandi dimensioni utilizzando questa applicazione.

and the folder  components/com_oziogallery

Ok I found it!

The settings.php file controls this. The permissions must be set there.

The file is in: /components/com_oziogallery
settings.php

It is working fine now.

You try also the permission:

images= 755 and photo= 644
also:

images = 777 and photo= 666
also

images = 755 and photo = 755
 

The actual photo permission = 644
The folder /images/oziogallery permission = 777

I do not understand how this affects the settings? The photos show fine:

I want to change the style of the gallery to carousel. I can not do this because the settings file permissions are wrong.

Where is the settings file?

The your Photo to put inside the folder: images/oziogallery, while the permission the folder images could be 755, this can be different your hosting service. You contact your hosting service for  to know the permission folder..

Hello Milcon,

I have attached some screen shots for you to see the problem.

I have contacted my hoster and they say 777 is the correct permission. Gallery.php is set to 777. But still I can not change any settings in the Administration. As you can see it says "Settings file is not writeable!". There must be another file that controls the settings? Is it settings.ini? If so, where is this file in the Ozio folders??

Please let me know if there is another file which controls settings. If it is the gallery.php file, you can see, it is writeable, therefore it should work and it is obviously not working. Let me know what else to try.

Will it help if I make a video for you of what I am doing so you can see? The gallery itself works, it's just I can't change any of the settings.

Unfortunately that does not work. I had the gallery.php set to 777. I can not change the Ozio Gallery - Settings. Is there another file that I might need to change.

The system info is:

All follow fields must be green to component correctly works.

Any other file that it might be to control the Administration settings?

I am trying to use OzioGallery on a new site and I can not change the settings because it is giving me a message that says:
Settings file is not writeable!

Where is the settings file and what permissions should I set it to?
