It depends. Are you using ContentMap Module or ContentMap plugin?

Ok, you are using the plugin. It shows the place associated to the current article.

The demo page you mentioned uses the module as follows:

• Create two or more articles, and assign coordinates to each one.
• Go to Module manager and create a new module. Choose type = ContentMap. Assign it to your preferred position.

Now take a look to the front-end: your ContentMap module is currently including all the places associated to your articles.
